This was our first visit to Byre Vets and we were so impressed from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. The receptionist was lovely and very helpful and the reception area was clean, tidy and full of information about pet health. The waiting area was split into separate areas for different species too. Our parrot, Echo, saw vet Verena and nurse Laura. They handled Echo so carefully and gently and did a thorough clinical exam. We were given lots of information and advice about senior parrot 🦜 care as Echo is almost 35. Cannot recommend Byre Vets highly enough. Thank you.

Don't bother!!!! Avian vet who doesn't care Called with our little canary bird in distress as she was egg bound as an emergency. Was told we aren't taking new patients but good luck! Not even a suggestion of someone else who might help. Thankfully we found someone local else she would have died. Appalling

I brought my bunny 🐰 in yesterday for his injections, and the service was phenomenal! Firstly, they have separate waiting areas for dogs, cats and exotics! We were called in my Sarah, the exotics specialist vet, she’s warm, welcoming, caring and knowledgable! Any questions I had, she answered them confidently and gave some great advice! Thank you ❤️

Fantastic service! It was our Cockatiels first visit and the team were absolutely amazing. Everyone was so friendly and helpful and listened to our concerns. We knew he was in completely safe hands with Byre. Thank you so much.

Sarah Pellett (the exotics specialist) has been absolutely fantastic in caring for Marlowe, our African Pygmy Hedgehog. After our local vet were unable to treat her symptoms (blood in wee), a referral was made to Sarah at Byre Vets for further investigation. Immediately, the problem was identified (uterine tumours) and she was scheduled for surgery. Having lost a hedgehog under anaesthetic before I was terrified, but Sarah was brilliant at putting my mind at ease and really took her time explaining everything and all the risks. Surgery was successful but not without its complications (no fault of the vet team, but rather the severity of the tumours). Marlowe recovered fairly well in the first 24 hours but then quickly went downhill and was later hospitalised with Sarah at Byre Vets for 48 hours. Sarah went above and beyond, regularly updating me and coming in on her free time to care for her. Sarah’s dedication saved my girls life and we are now in a much better position than we were at the start of the week. We are not completely out of the woods yet but I am forever grateful for the care and attention Sarah has provided for Marlowe. I cannot thank you enough!
